POSITION: Retail Sales Assistant

REPORTS TO: Lorena Patzer, Works of Wyoming Retail Manager

HOURLY RATE: $10/hour

SUMMARY: Part-time, 16-Hour Week

ABOUT US:​

Founded in 1999, the Wyoming Women’s Business Center (WWBC) is a 501c3 private non-profit organization headquartered in Laramie, WY. Our mission is to enable and empower Wyoming entrepreneurs, with a special emphasis on women who are economically or socially disadvantaged. We do that through 3 distinct programs: (1) Business Counseling and Training, (2) Microloans, and (3) The  Artist Development Center.

Our small, high-functioning team consists of 7 employees plus a corps of independent contractors and an engaged Board of Directors.

The Works of Wyoming store is located in downtown Laramie, on the corner of 2nd and Grand Ave.  Currently 65+ artists from throughout the state sell their art in the WoW gallery. The WoW retail space is an important tool in providing a comprehensive Professional Artist Development Program targeting artists in business. WoW allows for artists to display and experience selling in a gallery setting. We help them build a foundation while also providing them with expertise and encouragement to assist them in reaching their goals.

 

This position resides within WoW headquarters in Laramie, WY.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The WWBC/WoW Retail Sales Assistant is an integral part of the WWBC team and works very closely with the WoW staff and artists.    

​

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:​

  • Greet customers promptly

  • Answer the telephone courteously

  • Basic math skills

  • Collaborate with fellow team members to keep WoW clean and organized at all times

  • Respond to customer inquiries

  • Direct customer services issues or special requests to the manager as needed

  • Complete daily opening and closing tasks

  • Complete opening and closing cash handling procedures

  • Invite customers to the WoW online store

  • Other duties as assigned

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:​

  • Experience working with artists in gallery spaces, museums, or retail settings

  • Ability to prepare content for newsletters, website, social media platforms, and other communications

  • Computer proficiency and willingness to learn new platforms as required
